There is a temptation among youth workers to be all things to all students. We need to resist that temptation and keep pointing our students toward Christ and his church.
When it comes to the gospel, we yearn to live congruently, honoring the Lord Jesus in word and deed. This podcast fosters that congruence.
Teenagers need an encounter with God more than they need to be entertained.
Even though his work in our lives may not feel good, he is still working and since it is his work, it is good.
God knows that we are utterly helpless to keep our church camp commitments and to remake ourselves. That’s why we need Jesus!
As youth ministers, we have the opportunity to draw out that feeling of longing and to show how it is answered in the gospel.
No matter what you face when you step into the halls of school again, you will be met with Jesus’ proclamation of good news, liberty, healing, and freedom.
Let’s avoid giving Bible-based messages in which we begin with the Bible, only to launch into other topics that we think will interest young people more.
