Sleep is an act of faith because we are actively accepting our humanity and putting at the foot of the cross all the aspects of life that cause us the greatest anxiety.
The continuous demands of student ministry have forced me to this realization: Jesus is my only source for strength and true, lasting contentment.
I would offer us all a reminder of the grace and peace of Jesus as we believe that he has already come to us, without invitation.
“You’ve been alone long enough” is the refrain of the Advent season; Jesus is coming.
We participate in all the shopping, festivities, and decorating, treating these things as if they are the foundation of this season, all the while completely forgetting about the gospel.
There is greater joy in being the servant of King Jesus than being served by others, because it is what we were created to do: to glorify, honor, serve, and worship him.
After a difficult first semester my freshman year, Christian community at home and on campus reoriented me towards Jesus and restored my soul.
As we welcome our youth group alumni home this Christmas season, I pray our conversations will be “always full of grace.”
