A Review of Advent Devotionals for Families and Teens

As Andy Williams famously sang, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” However, if we aren’t intentional to prioritize the Wonderful One of the season – Jesus – before we know it, our hearts and schedules will merely be filled with the wonderful things of the season.

Unfortunately, my desire for this focus usually exceeds my personal creativity, time, and discipline. Over the years I’ve been tremendously helped, both personally and with my family, by devotional Advent books. I’ve complied a list of various resources I hope appeal to a wide range of audiences, pointing all to the great gift in Jesus. I encourage you to grab one of these to lead your heart and your family further into the heart of Christmas this year!

By God’s grace, might we be filled this Advent season with purpose afresh, along with those around us, to focus upon the great gift of our God becoming a man in Jesus.
