Seven Things Parents Love About the Rooted Conference

If you’re a parent and you are able to make a quick trip to Nashville this fall, go ahead and book it for November 2-4, and sign up for the Rooted Conference. This event isn’t like any other event around. It’s an intimate gathering of several hundred people from different backgrounds and states, all of whom are discipling young people – whether their own children in the home, or through church youth and family ministries.

After holding the first several Rooted youth ministry conferences and reviewing studies of long-term data, we at Rooted realized that the primary influence on a teenager’s long-term faith was not youth ministry or even their peers, but the unique position held by their parents. Since then, we have expanded all our offerings to include content for parents. Check out our podcasts, articles, curriculum, Bible studies, books, and more. Our conference is one of the best ways for you to get engaged with Rooted and equipped for discipleship in your own home. Read more below about parents’ favorite parts of the Rooted Conference, and make sure to grab your ticket before prices increase Thursday, June 15.

  1. Memorable Main Sessions

You won’t want to miss the main sessions this year. Each speaker is fantastic and brings years of experience in ministry and parenting. Trillia Newbell, Kelly Kapic, Daniel Yang, Cameron Cole, Katie Polski, and Isaiah Marshall will all bring their talents, Biblical wisdom, and winsome nature to walk us through the Sermon on the Mount together. These main sessions in the past have been some of the most memorable and encouraging parts of the conference, and we know this year will be the same!

  1. Incredible Music

No main session is complete without singing together. This year we’re thankful to welcome back Sandra McCracken! Also, for the first time we welcome Monique Zackery and The Lipscomb University Gospel Choir. Music City is full of talented worship leaders, and we can’t wait to sing with you led by each of these musical guests!

  1. Can’t Miss Workshops

If you’re like me, plenty of conversations with other parents include discussions about how to handle difficult topics like gender, anxiety, video games, social media, and even trauma as we parent our kids. Come hear – in person! – parenting experts such as Jared Kennedy, Sissy Goff, and Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra. These leaders have produced some of the podcasts, articles, and books parents are sharing now. Enjoy interacting with them in a smaller settingand hearing the wisdom they have to offer.

  1. Fellowship with youth ministry workers

Wish you had more time to talk with your kid’s youth minister? One of the perks of having a few meals together during the Rooted Conference is the opportunity to share a table with youth ministry workers and other parents from around the country. Every year we hear from attendees that eating together and talking during breaks helps parents and youth workers alike feel a little less alone in their mission to disciple the kids in their lives.

  1. Single-Day Parent Ticket

We know many parents aren’t able to make it for the whole three-day conference, whether due to work or family commitments, so we have made another popular option for parents who can only join us for our Saturday events – including two main sessions, two workshops, worship music and fellowship.

  1. Special Parent Panel

Join us for an additional parent panel first thing Saturday morning, featuring five members of the Rooted Parent Steering Committee: Dawson Cooper, Terrence Shay, David Brashler, Syler Thomas, and Anna Meade Harris. For more detail, see below:

Discipling Our Children Through Milestones and Transitions

In the sleepless nights of early parenthood, it can be hard to imagine your baby ever going to school, driving a car, or launching into the adult world. Harder still is helping your child make the transitions from child to pre-teen to teenager to adult. In this panel discussion, you’ll hear from five members of the Rooted Parent Steering Committee who have discipled children through these stages. We will offer you our stories of failure (and success!), share practical guidance, and most of all, encourage you to rest in Jesus as you grow up in him alongside your child. This will be our first event Saturday morning, so anyone with a full-conference or Saturday-only ticket is welcome to join.

  1. Free New Book!

Our first 500 attendees to sign up will receive a copy of the latest book from Rooted, Anxiety: Finding the Better Story, by Liz Edrington. If you or your child have ever struggled with anxiety, this is such a helpful resource in the form of a 31 day devotional for teenagers.

Register today for your full three-day ticket, or single-day ticket in order to get the best pricing before the discount expires. If you plan to bring a group with you, don’t miss the bundle pricing options to save one registration fee per five registrants.
