Developing Young Writers in the Gospel: TGC’s 2023 Essay Contest for Young Adults

journal

The blog team at Rooted loves to help writers communicate the gospel in clear, precise, God-glorifying words. Disciplining ourselves to express God’s truths clearly not only edifies readers, it allows the writer to effectively preach the gospel to oneself.

That’s why we are delighted to see The Gospel Coalition offer their annual essay contest for young adults again this year. Writers between the ages of 16 and 22 are encouraged to select one of three intriguing prompts, and submit an essay of 800-1000 words by July 1. Winning entries will be posted on their blog, which serves millions of readers across the globe, and writers are eligible for cash prizes. Please share this information with the aspiring writers in your home and church!

Here at Rooted we share TGC’s commitment to helping young adults communicate the gospel clearly and effectively. Our annual summer student series amplifies the voices of young adults, giving parents and youth pastors a window into the hearts and minds of the very people they seek to disciple. Be on the lookout for our 2023 student series to run at the beginning of August, and for TGC to announce their contest winners later in the summer. You will be informed, challenged, and encouraged by the voices of these young writers!
