Overview of Position
The Pastor of Youth Ministry at Bethany Covenant Church (Bethany) holds a full-time position responsible for developing, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the Youth Ministry (YM), which includes grades 6-12. Called by God, the Pastor collaborates with staff and the congregation on an ongoing basis to fulfill Bethany’s mission.
Primary Responsibilities
• Plan, implement and lead all aspects of weekly middle and high school ministries:
• Sunday morning- Foundations during 9 am service
• Highlight (HL)- Sundays 6pm-8pm for 9-12th grade
• Surge- Wednesday 6pm-7:30pm for 6-8th grade
• Recruit, equip, train and encourage lay volunteers and interns
• Model outreach by building relationships with students outside of Bethany
• Oversee YM website, social media and graphic design work
• Create and host special events, mission trips, and retreatsKey Competencies, Qualifications & Position Requirements
• Has earned a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Has a minimum of three years’ experience in YM in some capacity (e.g., volunteer, intern, etc.)
• Is expected to be or become licensed with the denomination within one year of start date
• Has a strong calling and enthusiasm to minister to middle and high school age students
• Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and digital)
• Must be self-disciplined and self-motivated
• Possesses strong organizational, time management, and administrative skills
• Demonstrates vital leadership skills and gifts
• Strong collaborative spirit; able to foster team environment
• Proficient with fundamental budgeting skills
• Proficiency in social media and other technical skills preferred (e.g., digital outreach,
social media presence, web design, etc.)

Bethany Covenant Church exists to help people follow Jesus, and we are seeking a Pastor of Youth Ministry who shares that passion. Located in Bedford, NH, a vibrant community just one hour from Boston and one hour from Pilgrim Pines, Bethany is a growing, healthy church with a long history of strong youth ministry.
We currently average 475 people on a Sunday, with 120 of them under the age of 18. Our youth programs, Highlight (high school), Surge (middle school), and Foundations (Sunday morning 6th–12th), continue to experience steady, measurable growth year over year. A dedicated volunteer team, a supportive staG culture, and a congregation that welcomes and embraces students have created a strong foundation. We are now looking for a Pastor of Youth Ministry who can build on that momentum with creativity, consistency, and relational strength.

An ideal candidate has:
Experience
• At least three years of youth ministry experience (paid, intern, or substantial volunteer).
• A bachelor’s degree required; MDiv or theological training preferred.
• A demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and maintain consistency in ministry rhythms.
Calling
• A clear sense of calling to middle school and high school ministry.
• A personal, growing walk with Christ and a life that reflects integrity and emotional maturity.
• Alignment with the theology and mission of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Leadership & People Skills
• Excellent communication skills—spoken, written, and digital.
• Strong relational instincts with students, parents, volunteers, and staG.
• A collaborative approach to teamwork and decision-making.
• The ability to recruit, train, and invest in volunteers.
• Organizational strength: calendaring, communication systems, planning, and follow-through.
• Someone who knows how to honor what is strong while confidently developing what is next.
• Comfortable evaluating what’s working, expanding what’s eGective, and introducing thoughtful improvements.
