The Youth Group Director would be involved in the planning of curriculum and events involved in growing a strong foundation for the spiritual formation of the youth group (6th-12 grade). New Mercy Community Church is an Intergenerational model and so we do not have a separate youth service. However, we do have age-based Sunday School. The youth group director would be working closely with the full time Education director.
Expectations: 20 hrs /week
1. Attend staff meetings once a week
2. Oversee the teachers and curriculum for the 6th-12 grade youth group
3. Plan and oversee FNF (Friday Night Fellowship)
4. Plan and oversee Youth events and outings
5. Plan and oversee retreats and mission trips throughout the year
6. Meet with youth and build relationships with families during the week
7. Oversee the needs of the youth for two services 9:00 am and 11:00.
Long Range Goals
Work with full-time pastors to come up with a spiritual formation plan for the youth group to transition into college and young adulthood.
