- The Director of Student Ministry will work with the Youth Leadership Committee to structure the Junior and Senior High Ministries at Westminster.
- The Director of Student Ministry will give spiritual leadership and oversight to this student ministry, as he seeks to fulfill our mission statement, “…to make disciples of Jesus Christ and influence the Delta for the glory of God.”
- The Director of Student Ministry will make relationships a priority.

Student Ministry
- With the cooperation of the Youth Leadership Committee, plan and execute a program of ministry for 6-12 grade students. This may include, but is not limited to, Wednesday night gatherings, retreats and overnight trips, Sunday School, discipleship groups, service events, and other ministry and relational efforts.
- Communicate effectively with our parents and youth, ensuring that all concerned parties are well informed of activities, opportunities, needs, and other calendar-related matters.
- Invite and encourage appropriate parental participation and support.
- Cooperate fully with ministry staff, church staff, and volunteers in carrying out the work and policies of the church.
- Maintain appropriate contact with students according to their age and gender.
- Work with Youth Leadership Committee to assign and notify volunteers of student activities (Wednesday night gatherings, special events, and other opportunities for ministry).
- Provide oversight and direction to summer intern(s) if applicable.
Bridge the ‘Gaps.’
- Minister faithfully to the youth of Westminster throughout the various stages and transitions inherent to junior and senior high school.
- Love the youth of Westminster, and actively engage them in Christ-honoring, relationship-building activities.
- Live the Christian life out before and with the youth of Westminster.
- Proclaim to the youth of Westminster the Gospel, teaching them the truth of Scripture.
- Pray fervently with and for the youth of Westminster.
- Encourage and support parents in the Christian nurture of their children.
General Ministry Duties
- Discipline yourself for godliness and be a good example of Christian manhood both at work and in the community.
- Give monthly report to Session regarding the status and health of the Westminster Youth Ministry.
- Meet regularly with the Youth Leadership Committee to plan and execute the necessary functions of Westminster’s Youth Ministry.
- Meet regularly with an older Male mentor to share the burdens and joys of youth ministry.
Education (if applicable)
- Pursue excellence as a student at Reformed Theological Seminary.
- Communicate, communicate, communicate with the Youth Leadership Committee regarding your time management needs during class preparation.
- Remember that your studies are a priority for not only your goals, but ours. Westminster desires to see you grow in depth, understanding, and wisdom in the Gospel.
Other Notes:
- Wednesday night activities will be a primary focus of responsibility for the Director of Student Ministries.
- The Director of Student Ministry will be expected to attend and participate in Sunday School but will have extensive support from volunteers for Sunday morning teaching and engagement.
- As a part of ‘making relationships a priority’ it will be important for the Director of Student Ministry to look for opportunities to participate in the lives of the youth of Westminster and will be given appropriate resources to accomplish that goal.
- Other duties within the context of church employment will be secondary and subject to approval by the Youth Leadership Committee in conversation with the Director of Student Ministry. This is meant to provide a hedge of protection for the Director’s time management and to prevent ministry burnout.
