BUY NOWWhy teach the Psalms?
It would be hard to find an emotion that isn’t covered in the Psalms. This “prayer book of Jesus” gives language to grief, joy, depression, praise, loneliness, fear, gratitude, and more. In the Psalms, students will hear the cries of their own heart reflected back to them, giving them a more robust language for prayer.
With the Survey of Psalms, students will get an overview of the 3 types of Psalms: Hymns and Thanksgiving, Royal and Wisdom, and Lament and Confidence. They will pray along with the psalmists about God’s goodness and majesty, while also seeing that Scripture gives them permission to cry out to God when they don’t feel His presence. They will be comforted with the promises of God’s nearness, protection, and sustaining power. Most importantly, they will get glimpses of Jesus, the One who prayed these Psalms himself during His life on earth.

LEARN MORE“Unlike some of the other Student Ministry curriculum we have used that tries to cover the entire Bible in a year, Rooted allows us to carefully and exegetically walk through books of the Bible at our own pace. We truly enjoy the fact that Rooted has many options that allow us to pick the books of the Bible that we want to study for the year. We love how engaged our students have become with the Holy Scriptures, the lesson, and each other.”
