Ask Alice: How to Talk So Your Kids Will Listen; How to Listen So Your Kids Will Talk

In this episode of Ask Alice, Alice welcomes the hosts of the Rooted Parent Podcast, Cameron Cole and Anna Meade Harris, for a conversation about why teenagers don’t much like to talk to their parents. Alice and Cameron share some of what they hear from teenagers about WHY they don’t feel their parents are “safe” people, and Anna will offer some practical suggestions for how to overcome the barriers to communication. Now more than ever, it’s crucial that our kids understand they can confide in us, bring us their questions, and voice their doubts without fear of judgment or condemnation. A posture of humble repentance and gentle curiosity goes a long way towards reminding our teens that parents struggle with sin and confusion too, and Jesus meets ALL our needs perfectly.
