Middle School Associate Director

Personal Qualities

• Be a committed Christ follower and be an active member of MBCC

• Have a college degree

• Preferably have 2-3 years of youth ministry experience/service

• Be a self-starter and creatively think of ways to engage students

• Be a team player that works well with youth ministry staff

• Be adaptable to the ever-changing environment of youth ministry

• Have a deep passion to pursue and connect with students to grow in their

understanding of Christ’s love for them

Roles and Responsibilities

• Help lead Middle School Youth Group each Wednesday night

• Lead a middle school girls breakout session each Wednesday night following

youth group

• Lead a middle school girls small group each Sunday night

• Attend weekly youth staff meeting for planning and prayer

• Work with Middle School Pastor and interns to prepare and implement weekly

services

• Meet weekly with students outside of weekly services for discipleship

• Meet with parents and students as the needs arise for encouragement and

counsel

• Work with Root45 staff to get to know rising 5th graders and to transition them

well to Middle School

• Work with High School Pastor to prepare students spiritually and transition them

well to High School

• Work with Discipleship Pastor to implement teaching and events to support family

discipleship

• Recruit and train volunteers to serve with middle school students

• Meet with and check-in regularly with volunteers

Middle School Associate Director

Job Description• Plan and implement events

• Help plan/attend annual youth retreats

• Help plan/attend youth mission trips and corresponding fundraisers.

• Help plan and facilitate worship team for Middle School Youth Group

• Help with the administrative tasks of MBCC Youth

• Understand that youth ministry is a part of the church as whole and seek out

ways to be involved across the life of our church

Hours Per Week

• 5 hours relational ministry (student/leaders)

• 10-15 hours church/events + setup/teardown etc. (Sunday morning, Sunday

night, Wednesday night)

• 2 hours Monday morning staff meeting

• 5 -10 hours administrative work

• 5 hours spiritual teaching preparation

• 3 hours miscellaneous
