Director of Children’s Ministry

Responsibilities:

1. Provide overall leadership for children’s ministry including:

a. Nursery

b. Preschool

c. Elementary (K-4)

d. AWANA

e. Ministry for Events (MOPS, Women’s Bible Studies, etc.)

2. Recruit, train, care for and lead children’s ministry staff and volunteers (trainers)

3. Teach and train children in the gospel using age-appropriate curriculum and Biblical resources

4. Oversee selection, editing, and distribution of curriculum

5. Provide active discipleship for the parents and families of children

6. Ensure a safe environment (Child Protection Policy, background checks, etc.) and systems to

ensure the well-being of children, parents, and staff

7. Provide Biblical encouragement to children and parents for significant events in their life

(birthday cards, welcome cards, etc.)

8. Coordinate and organize children’s ministry events such as volunteer appreciation, special

events, and conferences

9. Provide Biblically based childcare for needed events (MOPS, Bible Studies, etc.) and oversee

subsequent childcare workers

10. Work with appropriate staff to ensure new families are assimilated into the church

11. Coordinate special needs programming for Sunday morning as needed

12. Work with the Pastor of Family Ministry to manage the children’s ministry budget

13. Other essential religious duties assigned by the Pastor of Family Ministry
