PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree or certification in Children, Youth and/or Family Ministry is desired.
• 3+ years’ experience in outdoor ministry, youth ministry, education, or a related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of Lutheran theology and the ELCA.
• Experience leading, volunteering or working with people of marginalized communities including LGBTQIA+; belonging to a Reconciling in Christ congregation or other congregation which creates a place of intentional welcome.
• Understanding of personal development of early childhood through young adult development (spiritual, emotional, physical).
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead, recruit and train staff and volunteers.
• Godly Play experience, or willingness to be trained.
• Ability to pass a background screening.

Work Hours and Work Location

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. The work schedule from week to week is variable and includes Sundays, some religious/church holidays, work outside CTS office hours, weekends and events that may extend over several days.

Working Conditions

Works in an office setting and in active settings both indoors and outside.

Attends meetings and activities outside of normal office hours.

May facilitate travel by car and/or large vehicle to transport youth or equipment.

Works with children and young people in noisy and physically active situations.

Uses appropriate safety equipment and follows established safety policies, practices, and procedures.
