If you’ve been on the Rooted blog much, you’ve probably picked up on the fact that we are passionate about getting good books in the hands of middle schoolers, teenagers, and young adults. Learning from other Christians through their writing can be such a boon to a young person’s developing faith, especially when that writing is clear, concise, and beautifully expressive of God’s goodness. We are equally passionate about developing and amplifying the voices of young writers. Over the years, Rooted has hosted several student series on our blog, with articles written and edited entirely by high school and college students. We are committed to helping young people share their perspectives and develop their God-given talents to enrich the whole church.
That’s why we are so excited about The Gospel Coalition’s Essay Contest for Young Adults. In answer to one of three prompts, writers ages 16-22 have until July 1 to submit an essay under 1,000 words. Winners will be published on their website and receive other prizes. You can get the specifics here. Please share with the aspiring writers in your home and church!
